Xavi Hernandez will sign a deal that will likely see him finish his career with Barcelona.
The club said Xavi, who is signed through the 2013/14 season, has agreed to a contract extension that will extend his deal automatically for one season if he features in at least 50 per cent of the club's games. The same clause kicks in the next season, which could tie Xavi to the Spanish champions until 2016.

Since joining Barcelona's youth academy at 11, Xavi has played over 500 games and won two Champions Leagues, five Spanish league titles and a Club World Cup. The 30-year-old was named best player at the 2008 European championship after helping Spain to the title.
Also, Barcelona signed Pedro Rodriguez to a one-year extension through 2015.
